Welcome to our Chapter
Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our chapter. We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.
Our chapter is part of the worldwide network of EAA chapters. EAA embodies the spirit of aviation through the world’s most engaged community of aviation enthusiasts. EAA’s 170,000 plus members enjoy the fun and camaraderie of sharing their passion for flying, building and restoring recreational aircraft. EAA Chapter 461 is located at Clow International Airport (1C5) in Bolingbrook, Illinois
Our next meeting will be Thursday, March 1st, at 7:00 pm in the Illinois Aviation Museum hanger. We’ll have a guest speaker, but who exactly, is to be determined. Plus, it’s almost time for Young Eagles season to start. Hopefully the snow will be gone by then. We’ll also be discussing Cavalcade and the visit of the EAA’s Ford Tri-motor.

Happy New Year!
The beginning of a new year is inevitably a time for reflection and contemplation. Our chapter has had a great year. Our Young Eagle program was very successful, bringing the joy of flight to many new young adults. We sponsored several to the EAA Adventure Camp this last summer. Attendance at chapter meetings is up with several meetings hosting guest speakers. Member’s construction projects are progressing. Another successful Cavalcade and success hosting the EAA Ford TriMotor. The Zenith Cruiser flew it’s first flight and flew to AirVenture. The Zenith is now the center of a new flying club. It’s been a great year, but now it’s time to focus on the new year.
So, we ask ourselves, “How do we make 2018 even better?” The answer is simple, your involvement! Please join us at the next meeting. Your involvement is crucial to a successful year.
Did I mention it’s time for dues payment. Sorry, had to throw that one in there;)
New Members and Spam
This site receives about 25 to 35 spam bots each day. I recently added an approval process to the site that has significantly reduced the number of attempts to install spam ware and virus ware on the site. But there may have been a few legitimate folks that tried to sign-up and were denied. If you legitimately want to be a member of this site, please sign-up, then use the contact page to send me an email with a quick blurb that you’re not a spam-bot sent by Dr Evil, and I’ll be glad to approve you. But please, if your email address is from .ru or .pl or a Brazilian steakhouse in Atlanta (I’m not making this up) or low cost Viagra (I dont need any, thank you), etc. it’s not going to be approved.
The Zenith is now owned by a flying club, Access Aero. With many schools charging $150 an hour for a Cessna 172, the founding members of Access Aero wanted a good, reliable, inexpensive to operate airplane. Along came the Zenith 750. For more information about Access Aero, you can visit their website at: Access Aero and follow them on Facebook.
