Welcome to our Chapter

Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our chapter. We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.

EAA Chapter 461 is located at Clow International Airport (1C5) in Bolingbrook, Illinois

Our next meeting will be Thursday, October 5th, at 7:00 pm. Thanks to all who came for the BBQ meeting in Sept. Good time was had by all. Josh gave a very informative presentation on the O’Hare modernization program. We can all agree it’s a very complicated process. The next meeting will focus on upcoming fall season activities.

Access Aero Open House

Looking for affordable, fun flying. Access Aero is hosting an open house for anyone interested in the new flying club. The open house will be Saturday, Sept. 23 at 9am. The Zenith Cruiser will be on display at the IAM Hanger. Come out see what all the excitement is about.

New Members and Spam

This site receives about 25 to 35 spam bots each day. I recently added an approval process to the site that has significantly reduced the number of attempts to install spam ware and virus ware on the site. But there may have been a few legitimate folks that tried to sign-up and were denied. If you legitimately want to be a member of this site, please sign-up, then use the contact page to send me an email with a quick blurb that you’re not a spam-bot sent by Dr Evil, and I’ll be glad to approve you. But please, if your email address is from .ru or .pl or a Brazilian steakhouse in Atlanta (I’m not making this up) or low cost Viagra (I dont need any, thank you), etc. it’s not going to be approved.

Young Eagles Rally

Even though the ramp construction was still ongoing,  we had a great turnout of Young Eagles. Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to help fly, our Young Eagles and their families.

The next Young Eagles rally is Saturday, October 14th, from 9 am to noon. This is our last planned Young Eagles Rally of the season. Please come out and join us. Follow the link at the top of page for all the information.

The Zenith Club

The Zenith has been flying nicely. Several members have been checked out in the airplane. The airplane is now owned by a Flying Club, Access Aero.  The goal is to provide affordable flight training. With many schools charging $150 an hour for a Cessna 172, the founding members of Access Aero wanted a good, reliable, inexpensive to operate airplane. Along came the Zenith 750. For more information about Access Aero, you can visit their website at: Access Aero and follow them on Facebook.
